Cameron Hayley Returning to ThorSport Racingby Kyle Pokrefky February 4, 2016
ThorSport Racing has announced that 2015 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series rookie Cameron Hayley will return to the team to pilot its No. 13 Toyota this season.
Hayley’s No. 13 entry will serve as ThorSport’s fourth full-time team for 2016 as the Calgary, Alberta native will join drivers Rico Abreu, Matt Crafton and Ben Rhodes at the organization.
Hayley, 19, returns to the team after a sixth-place performance in the Truck Series’ drivers standings last year.
In 2015, Hayley scored four top-five and 13 top-10 finishes in 23 starts with a best finish of third coming at Martinsville Speedway’s fall race.
“I’m expecting big things out of my ThorSport Racing team in 2016,” Hayley said of what will be his second season with the team. “Last year was a big learning year for me; whether it was learning the race tracks or learning how to drive these Tundra’s.
“I plan to build on the experience I gained in my first full-time season, and be a strong contender for victory lane each and every week.
“I’ll have a new crew chief and team this year, but everyone is hungry to win.
“I think this can be a championship-contending season for me.
“I can’t thank Duke and Rhonda Thorson enough for allowing me to drive their Tundra’s for a second season, and I look for a lot of good things to come.”
Hayley’s new crew chief for the 2016 campaign will be Eddie Troconis, who comes to the team after serving as an engineer for Kyle Busch Motorsports in the Truck Series.
Troconis had five races with KBM under his belt as a crew chief having served as crew chief for Christopher Bell, Gray Gaulding and Matt Tifft in select races last season.
Returning to sponsor Hayley for his 2016 effort will be family sponsor Cabinets by Hayley.
