Elliott and Larson Top Practice At Bristol

BRISTOL, Tenn. – Chase Elliott was fastest during the NASCAR Nationwide Series’ first practice session at Bristol Motor Speedway on Thursday, followed by Kyle Larson topping the speed chart during the final session.

On Thursday, the series’ drivers who came up through the regional short track ranks felt quite at home in “Thunder Valley”. Following Chase Elliott who led first practice with a lap time of 15.559 seconds at 123.324 mph were veterans Kyle Busch and Kevin Harvick, however, Ryan Blaney (5th), Kyle Larson (6th) and Dylan Kwasniewski (9th) who’ve recently graduated from the NASCAR K&N Pro Series, Pro All Star Series and other regional divisions placed their cars inside the top-10, as well.

During final practice, Kyle Larson led the way with a time of 15.312 mph at 123.313 mph. Once again, Kyle Busch was second. Brian Scott and Ryan Blaney moved up from one spot, respectively third and fourth. Chase Elliott fell all the way down to fifth quickest.

Qualifying for the Food City 300 will begin at 3:40 p.m. EST. Coverage kicks off on Fox Sports 1 at 3:30 p.m. EST
